The publication adds no analytics, advertising trackers, external fonts or embedded media. The hosting service adds security scripts and may set security cookies to protect delivery.

Email updates

Measures Taken collects only subscriber email addresses at launch. Buttondown processes subscriber addresses and delivers our emails. Subscribers can unsubscribe anytime. Subscription emails provide an unsubscribe control.

Subscriber data is not sold. We ask for no extra subscriber profile data, such as names, locations or demographic information. Buttondown also records technical signup metadata, including IP address, inferred country and referral information, for processing subscriptions. These are not additional form fields. When you subscribe, the form also tells Buttondown how you found us, so we can see which links and posts bring readers: any campaign tags in the link you arrived by (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content), the referring website's address without the page path (for example https://x.com), the first page you visited on this site in that browser session, and the page you subscribed from. This is kept only in your browser tab until you subscribe, and is not sent anywhere if you don't. Signup requires email confirmation (double opt-in). We will not enable email tracking pixels or click tracking.

Hosting for this version is provided through Cloudflare Pages. The hosting service processes requests to serve these pages. Provider log-retention details have not yet been verified.
